Jerome B. Kornfeld, M.D., FAAFP, specializing in healthcare issues from the mind-body reaction and spirituality to wellness, coping with stress, and accessing quality medical care in the era of managed care.
Dr. Kornfeld served as medical director of the Case Management Department of the Hospital Medical Center.
He served as medical director of the Independent Practice Association, supervising the medical quality, healthcare management, and cost control issues for more than 60,000 lives.
In addition to managing medical services for patients, Dr. Kornfeld also served on the Executive Committee of the Quality Improvement Council for a national health plan, Uni-Health America. He was a member of the Medical Directors Committee for the National IPA Coalition (NIPAC), which develops standards and protocols for lPAs (independent practice associations).
Dr. Kornfeld launched a public career as a teacher and advocate for medical consumers. He broke new ground as the first medical reporter on the ABC, where he made frequent appearances on the Eyewitness News.
He also served as the on-air medical expert.
Dr. Kornfeld remains active as a medical school faculty member, teaching medical students how to communicate with patients.

Dr. Kornfeld also addresses medical staff at hospitals on dealing with depression related to managed care changes in healthcare delivery and the need for doctors to remain committed to their medical oaths.
He is also actively involved with TEC International, a global organization of CEO’s.
Dr. Kornfeld is a prolific writer and contributor to medical and trade publications, including recent articles in Medical Economics, Sharing Ideas, and Hospital Practice.
Dr. Kornfeld is a charter diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and a Charter Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
He receives a Physician’s Recognition Award from the American Medical Association.
