Eldest daughter of a second-generation career military officer, Jan Pedersen grew up with change as the norm, the world as her home, and exceptional communication skills as the means to thrive. Eight moves throughout the United States and Europe in less than twelve years taught her that life is indeed a daring adventure–and that people have more in common than they think–if only they communicate. She’s been a shipboard cruise director, helping people make friends and experience the richness of travel in 31 countries. She had her face painted in Panama by Cuna Indians–learned traditional dance and costume design in Tahiti–and learned to fish for cod with a hand line from an 80-year-old Norwegian. She earned top ratings on ships, and her boundless energy, enthusiasm and fearlessness earned her an executive promotion. She managed itineraries, contracts and excursions for eight ships in 28 intineraries all over the world.
Little wonder that she’s spent the last fifteen years on the road from Singapore to Sidney–Maui to Minneapolis–Galveston to Glasgow–speaking to over 1200 groups about how communication shapes our experiences of the world and the people in it.
