- Remember words don’t MOTIVATE…. people do!
- Don’t be afraid to be passionate and use your emotion.
Blaise Winter chooses to maintain the belief that the best motivation comes from the human touch, face to face, eye-to-eye, ear-to-ear, heart to heart. Former NFL player speaks of struggles to succeed.
You might remember Blaise Winter from his days with the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts or San Diego Chargers.
But there’s more to his life story than just his time in the NFL, he shared that story, you could have heard a pin dropas attendies were captivated.
Winter was born with a cleft lip and palate, he survived tumors in each of his ears, and growing up, he struggled with self confidence.
Then football came into his life, and today he calls the gridiron “sacred ground.”
“Step on it with a new level of commitment. I’m really excited for you guys to get to the promised land–to the post season,” advised Winter to the football team.
The field was–and still is–a source of confidence for Winter.
“To me, it was a voice. It was a way to reach people. And I’m not talking about people on the field–that’s obvious. I’m talking about things that are not so obvious. There are a lot of people up in the stands that need, in this day-and-age, relief,” Winter added.
He’s been sharing his motivational life story for many years, and the audience thrives on the speech.
“It was actually very inspirational to hear from a fellow football player of how his life went and how it’s still going…all the challenges that he went through and what he’s still going through today.”
After finding football, Winter walked on at Syracuse University, was drafted into the NFL 35th overall, and enjoyed an 11 year career.
“Just an excellent motivational speech. He really gets down to the nitty-gritty of some things that you can apply to life in general.
Hopefully he gave a little bit of motivation to think about in their preparation for this Friday’s ball game,” said, Head Coach.
Blaise’s advice: never give up, persevere, look for the best in people, learn about yourself, take chances, don’t be afraid to be passionate and use your emotion.
