Catherine Ann Reed on strategic communications that provides a wide variety of services including presentation coaching, media relations preparation, crisis communications training, focus group research, customer service workshops and communications assessments.
She has worked with a wide variety of clients throughout the United States and in Canada, including on national projects for large organizations.
Clients have included university police chiefs, state auditors, insurance industry representatives, medical professionals, bankers, statewide county clerks, university and college administrators and many more.
Work is customized to meet client needs and prepare key individuals to enhance and protect the reputation of the organization.
Workshops, private and small group coaching sessions, group presentations and crisis communications and media skills building are all tailored to individual need.
Managed and directed statewide media relations, brand management, and advertising. Developed marketing plans to promote events, and trained staff and volunteers in communications techniques. Worked on statewide and national social issues and political campaigns.
Significant Accomplishments
•Developed Internet site “face” and integrated look.
•Established electronic newsroom with news distribution services, allowing the University to tell its story directly to interested parties.
•Created ticket office serving all University departments and events. Contracted for Olympic Track and Field trials. Office sells approximately 100,000 tickets annually.
•Established CSUS Bulletin providing internal communications.
•Established University’s magazine to strengthen community communications.
•Coordinated two televised State gubernatorial candidate debates.
•Implemented University’s first integrated central public events calendar.
•Brought media coverage program to the third most covered by television in the system.
•Established system’s premier Public Affairs Crisis Preparedness Program.
•Established campus Student Host Program.
•Restructured campus Ceremonies and Visitor Relations Unit.
•Conceived and developed campus central publications unit.
•Integrated look and development of “first response” marketing package.
•Produced first University Style Guide.
•Produced Speakers and Experts Guide.
•Selected to participate on 100–member team of Leadership America, a national women’s forum attended by President George W. Bush and several Cabinet members.
•Received national Telly Awards for education videos, 1997 and 2001.
•Awarded IABC, Sacramento Crystal Award, CSUS Bulletin, 2001.
