Gus is the author of three books.
Whalen continues to be very active in community and industry affairs.
He is past chairman of the American Apparel Manufacturers Association (AAMA), and current member of the Board of Directors of Textile/Clothing Technology Corporation (TC2).
Whalen serves on State Workforce Development Board.
