Diane opened North America’s first outdoor lifestyle store in her hometown that uniquely targeted women and their families—always looking to keep at the forefront of change. Diane reinvented and rebranded her business multiple times. Her efforts have been recognized with numerous community and business awards, including inducting into the Retail Council of Retail Hall of Fame.
However, when the pandemic hit, Diane’s world came crashing down. The doors to her brick-and-mortar store were ordered closed, and monthly sales fell to less than $2,000. In desperation, Diane quickly cut expenses and looked for possible new revenue sources.
She grabbed her phone and courageously launched a LIVE shopping show with just two days to learn and prep. The show was an instant hit. Since then, it has continued weekly, and the initiative has earned unexpected innovation awards, shout-outs from top international retail specialists, and thousands of fans, including an American Ivy League university president.
Diane, the entrepreneur, turned pivoter, now has new doors opening up for her business. She shares her inspiring story and message that we must all learn to become pivoters to succeed in uncertainty.
