Donna Elizabeth Boetig is an author, editor, and a seasoned writing instructor with many years of experience in myriad areas of written and oral communications.
She is the editor of This is Living magazine, and is a former editor for Martin Marietta and St. John’s College, Annapolis, and was the coordinator of the Writing Center at the University.
Donna reported for The Baltimore Sun and was a correspondent for The Union Leader in Manchester, N.H.
Some of Donna’s cover stories and articles for Reader’s Digest, Family Circle, Woman’s Day, McCall’s and Smithsonian were distinguished as readers’ favorites; others were reprinted in textbooks or optioned for television.
Her book on writing was a Writers’ Digest Book Club feature selection.
Donna has crisscrossed the United States and Canada informing and inspiring hundreds of editors and writers both beginners and pros to reach new heights of professionalism through her popular workshops and as a keynote speaker at writers’ conferences.
She has consulted with groups as diverse as Doubleday book club editors, AT&T, the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, Rice University and World Vision.
Donna earned her graduate degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University where she taught for several years in their part-time graduate writing program.
She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and a fellow of the Casey Journalism Center at the University of Maryland.
Donna taught English at the United States Naval Academy.
Donna’s favorite students are those who are out in the trenches every day facing the challenge of reaching readers through the printed word.
