John Naber, a television analyst, commentator, host, ABC Sports and has served as play-by-play host on ABC’s Wide World of Sports for events such as the Grand National Steeplechase in Aintree, England, the World Gymnastics Championships in Brisbane, Australia, and the famous Hannenkahm Downhill Race from Kitzbuhl, Austria.
He also works with national cable companies, hosting the Ladies Professional Bowlers Tour on ESPN and the Winter Olympic coverage from Albertville, France, and again in Lillehammer, Norway, for Turner Broadcasting.
As an observer of athletic excellence, he is able to share the “behind the scenes” stories of the athletes and their accomplishments. With the use of humor in matching his comments to the specific needs of the audience, John Naber has developed a series of interchangeable “power paragraphs” fit for any occasion, from a sports event to a sales and management seminar. Along with his individual goal-setting methods, he uses his experience as an Olympic athlete and his observations as a sports announcer to illustrate the process of seeing dreams come true.
He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Olympic Organizing Committee, Honorary Swim Coach of the International Special Olympics, and advisor to the Women’s Sports Foundation.
He is also the former Chairman of the AAF-Rose Bowl Aquatics Center and is actively involved in fundraising activities for the United States Olympic Committee.
