He is credited with streamlining acquisition systems, developing strategic marketing and development plans, and nearly tripled the size of our country’s oldest Corps of Cadets.
In 2003, he was assigned as the National Chief of Staff, American Cadet Alliance, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ACA, with Naval Cadets, Marine Cadets and Army Cadets assigned.
In keeping with the direction of the American Cadet Alliance, he transferred from the U.S. Naval Cadet Corps after 30+ years in a Navy uniform to the U.S. Army Cadet Corps on 15 Jul 07, assuming the rank of Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army Cadet Corps.
Lt. Colonel Land provides training and facilitation services to civilian and government clients nationwide.
He has facilitated Environmental Remediation Teams involved in the BRAC process throughout the east coast.
A primary instructor for Rockhurst University, he has trained over 20,000 professionals nationwide in leadership, communications and business development skills.
He has been heavily involved with the roll-out of the Department of Defense National Security Personnel System (NSPS), providing a new personnel program for DoD employees, replacing the General Schedule (GS) system. Further, he owns Eagles Landing Retreat, a 9,000 sq. ft. retreat on 50 acres used for corporate and church retreats, hunting excursions and family reunions.
He is eligible to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist device; ACA Basic Parachutist Badge; ACA SCUBA device; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation: National Defense Service Medal; Navy Enlisted Good Conduct Medal (three awards): Humanitarian Service Medal: Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal: ACA Superior Service Medal, ACA Distinguished Service Medal, ACA Meritorious Service Medal, ACA Commendation Medal, ACA Achievement Medal and several other personal and unit awards.
Lt. Colonel Land has a degree in Sociology.
