Karen Humphrey Sullins – M.S., LPC, NCC on Crisis Intervention and Response, Threat Assessment, Compassion Fatigue, Mass Casualty

Karen is a highly skilled professional in crisis response.  She is certified in Crisis Intervention, Threat Assessment, Compassion Fatigue, Mass Casualty, and many other specialties, which she trained in with national and state organizations, including the Law Enforcement Alliance for Peer Support, CDP, Homeland Security, FEMA, Red Cross, and Sandy Hook Promise.

Her heartbeat and pulse are the driving force behind providing therapy, counseling, and care to some of the community’s most vulnerable.

Karen’s passion and commitment to school safety, when asked by Sandy Hook Promise to speak on their behalf to the Federal Commission in Washington, D.C., and at the State Capitol, advocating for gun laws to protect children in schools.

NPR has featured her as a voice for the voiceless. And many other social media outlets have featured her.

She holds degrees in Sociology, Psychology, Nursing, and Counseling Psychology. She is a graduate with a certificate in Leadership and Ministry.

Karen Humphrey Sullins has a unique background in public service, foster care, EMS, and nursing.

Serving patients in an ER setting, Sullins shifted to treating deeply rooted wounds rather than the physiological wounds.

Karen obtained a Master’s in Counseling Psychology.

She worked in acute inpatient care and CAC.

She established a private practice and founded a non-profit to bridge service gaps.

Karen ensures access to individualized support that may not otherwise be available to families.

Meeting people where they are became a passion, and making ‘the ask’ for help as easy as possible because Karen understands how hard that first step can be.
