Dr. Karlyn Black is a trained research scientist with a Ph.D. in Endocrinology and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology.
Dr. Black has experience in the politically challenging and emotionally charged environmental arena.
She has held positions as a Toxicologist, Health and Biological Effects Research Specialist, Statewide Policy and Planning Liaison, Rule Effectiveness Auditor, Regulatory Compliance Assistance and Enforcement Officer, a Particulate Matter Air Quality Specialist, and an Environmental Health and Safety Officer.
Karlyn (pron. “Car-lin”) is dedicated to providing premium quality environmental assessment; environmental program planning, development and implementation; public education and outreach; and technical communications services.
Karlyn works with people who want sound, effective, and economically viable environmental programs. Specializing in human health and biological effects, site characterization, risk assessment, air quality, soil and water contamination, Dr. Black helps businesses, agencies, organizations and individuals understand and address complex environmental challenges.
Karlyn also works with people who want to develop and implement effective communication programs. As an accomplished graphic designer Karlyn uses her design and technology skills to create quality communication materials in a variety of media formats.
She also teaches people how to effectively communicate technical information, ideas, and outcomes to non-technical audiences.
She has helped develop environmental education curricula.
Dr. Black communicates technical information in a way that is easily understood by virtually any audience.
