Lewis J. Walker, M.B.A., CFP, CIMC, CRC, writes on financial planning, investment strategies, and economic, political and business trends from a free-market perspective. Surprisingly, he is one of only a few financial planners who does so.
“Our industry is over-regulated and excessively cautious,” Lewis points out. “My belief is you can do a good job while making good points about the economic and business environment – points that are politely stated and not personal by any means, but truthful and occasionally a catalyst for change as well.”
Lewis has been a catalyst for change for most of his professional life. A pioneer in financial planning at a time when most “customer’s men” were merely intermediaries – brokers.
He also holds the Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC) designation and has served as national president of the Institute for Certified Investment Management Consultants.
Lewis was a first recipient of HONORS, an award bestowed a Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) which recognizes who have made a significant contribution to the development of the financial planning profession.
For much of his professional career, Lewis has been president of his own financial firm, – financial planning and investment advisory firms.
Known as The Investment Coach™, Lewis is a nationally recognized speaker and writer. He writes a monthly column, “Economic Literacy” for On Wall Street magazine and is a regular columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning. Lewis was cited by WORTH magazine in their 10th anniversary issue (July/August, 2002) as one of the Top 250 Financial Advisors in the U.S.
