Mark Black: A Heart and Double-Lung Transplant, Mark has overcome incredible odds to become a 4-time Marathon Runner, and a member of the World’s First All-Heart Transplant Ironman Relay Team.
Born with a congenital heart defect, Mark barely survived his first week of life. Before reaching the age of two, Mark underwent two open heart surgeries.
Then one day in May of 2001, at 23 yeard old, Mark was told that we have dying. Without a life-saving heart and double-lung transplant he wouldn’t see his 25th birthday.
After coming near death Mark was put on the transplant waiting list where he waited for nearly a year. Finally, in September of 2002, the miracle happened. Mark successfully underwent a heart and double lung transplant on September 7th, 2002.
Mark has been a speaking professionally since 2003 and has inspired more than 75,000 people to “Turn Adversity into their Competitive Advantage”. His story of courage and perseverance will inspire your audience to stop making excuses, take responsibility, and reach their potential..
