In June 2011, she released the survivor’s story titled 9/11/01 “A Long Road Toward Recovery” and has emerged as the voice for the silent majority.
Her advocacy prompted the U.S. Justice Department to distribute relevant information to affected individuals regarding financial and mental health benefits made available through the passing of the Zadroga Act.* (*The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 is a U.S. law to provide health monitoring and financial aid to the first responders, volunteers, and survivors of the September 11 attacks. It is named after James Zadroga, a New York Police Department officer whose death was linked to exposure from the World Trade Center disaster. The law funds and establishes a health program to provide medical treatment for responders and survivors who experienced or may experience health complications related to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 (H.R. 847; Pub.L. 111–347) is a U.S. law to provide health monitoring and financial aid to the first responders, volunteers, and survivors of the September 11 attacks.)
