Peggy Ward: The buzz is out! MAMAPHOBIA is the “must see” comedy of all time.
Peggy Ward, “She is hilarious, she is the creator and writer of MAMAPHOBIA, it is a one-woman act and you are going to love it!”.
Written and performed by Ward, Mamaphobia takes the audience on a journey from her pregnancy, how hard can it be?
Babies like to sleep and so do I, to the reality of hiding baby bottles in public because her 2 year old was too old.
Ward takes moments both troubling and funny, and turns them into a one-woman show.
The show includes live music.
Ward was inspired to write Mamaphobia after the birth of her second child. She and her good friends shared many truths about motherhood, not being discussed at playgroup. Many moms (including me) want so desperately to “get it right”.
We try and try to be a success, but learn with each calamity success at this job is hard to achieve,” says Ward. Motherhood to me is about being vulnerable. It is about having an enormous responsibility and an enormous fear of failure. I wrote my show to say, this is what is going on in my house. It’s hectic, crazy, funny, scary, frustrating and beautiful all in the same day.”
“She nailed it… the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I felt like she was reading my mind!” According to critic “Ward doesn’t sugarcoat motherhood,” The material is original, smart and hilarious.
“It is enormously funny the whole thing and very well acted.”
When I received an email from retiree, a father of five, telling me that he thought the show was “terrific!” I knew I was reaching the men in my audience,” says Ward.
