We had two “secret service” men walk up the aisles and as soon as Reggie walked on stage, the audience gasped and stood to their feet. Perhaps because we were living within the world of theater where anything can happen, or perhaps because there are very few good reasons to interrupt Carol Burnett, I think most audience members believed it was actually the President for a couple of minutes.
