Richard Gasaway, Ph.D.: Safety of teams working in high-stakes environments by sharing best practices for reducing human error, enhancing situational awareness, and improving high-stress decision making. Gasaway is widely considered one of the nation’s leading authorities on situational awareness.
Gasaway has helped organizations with practical, immediately actionable best practices to:

Based, in part, on his experience as a firefighter-paramedic, fire chief, and emergency commander, he has developed and shared best practices for conducting rapid situational assessments and teaches skills essential for making accurate, high-stakes decisions under extremely stressful conditions.
To enhance his decades of practical, in-the-trenches decision-making experience, he conducted doctoral research in cognitive neuroscience to understand how individuals and teams develop and maintain situational awareness to improve decision-making under stress.
