Roy’s group was the brilliant comedy folk troupe, The Foremen, active throughout the 90s. Musically and stylistically, The Foremen were a parody of folk-era groups of the late ’50s and early ’60s, while lyrically, their songs brilliantly satirized current political issues. Roy founded the group in 1989 and wrote all their material through 1996.
