Victim of a near-fatal automobile accident
Program Titles
Shauna Pender dreamed of being Miss America, but the Miss Florida pageant seemed to be an insurmountable obstacle in her path. Finally, after competing five years for the state crown, she was named Miss Florida 2003 in her last year of eligibility. That is not the end of Shauna’s story, though. It is only the beginning. Just two weeks after putting on the crown, her life plans came to an abrupt halt when she was the victim of a near-fatal automobile accident as an eighteen-wheel tractor-trailer toppled onto her town car in route to an event. The story of her fight for life has been featured on Inside Edition and CNN Headline News as well as in countless newspapers and other national media outlets. She will soon be the subject of an E! True Hollywood Story. After undergoing numerous surgeries and various intensive therapies, she is slowly rebuilding her life. She is still pursuing her dream of becoming a success in the theatre and entertainment industry while continuing to be a much sought-after motivational speaker. She is also working on her first book which shares her story of passion, patience and perseverance.
Shauna is an excellent candidate for any organization seeking an authentic inspirational speaker, but her message resonates especially well at high school and college events, rehabilitation hospitals, and at women’s programs and mother-daughter events.
