Das’s music is a fair blend of Gwalior and Kirana Gharana.
Learning and practice of Indian music helps building logical reasoning,
develops self confidence, helps as memory booster, increases power of concentration, heals stammering problem, helps in motor control,
incorporates patience and degree of tolerance, brings peace of mind.
Shri Ram Krishna Das’s background stems from vocal music in Varanasi from his father Shrihari Das and Pandit Badol Banerjee,
from Pandita Neela Bhagwat, Pandit Amarendra Dhaneshwar, Pandit Sharad Chandra Arolkar, Pandit Firoz Dastur and Sitar maestro Pandit Arvind Parikh.
Das is a Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Miraj.
Das has given many concerts from many prestigious platforms all over India, e.g. NCPA, Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, Karnataka Sangha, Bandra Sangeet Sabha, Swar Sadhana Samiti, Swar Vilas, ….
Das has performed on All India Radio, as a Dhrupad-Dhamar singer and on DD-TV (Sahyadri and Bengali Kolkata) for light classical forms.
Das sings the genres like khayal, thumri, tappa, bhajan, etc. with appropriate emotion, skill, dexterity and artistry.
He also performs Sufi theme based folk and light compositions as the chief member of a group, Kala Vilas.
Das presents classical, light classical and devotional music.
Das has worked as a professor: Department of Music, University of Mumbai.
Das has presented many papers on classical music in national; international programs and seminars.
Musician’s Guild, Mumbai has released a CD of his Bengali folk songs.
Das also sang in the album Ek Roop Sab Mahi published by TISS, Mumbai.
Music of Mumbai has recorded his khayals and bhajans.
Das has interviewed many artistes: Padma bhushan Girija Devi, Padma bhushan Pandit Rajan; Sajan Mishra, Padmashri Ustad F Wasifuddin Dagar; Vidushi Shruti Sadolikar Katkar for the Sangeet Sarita programmed broadcast by Vividh Bharati, all India Radio, Mumbai.
Das has researched 39 Siddha Rags for the Door Darshan TV serial Rag Rang, which was telecast on Doordarshan for a number of years repeatedly.
‘Rag’ of Hindustani and Carnatic music besides modern explanation of jatis and rags of Brihaddeshi and Sangit Ratnakar.
On music, he has contributed more than 360 reviews and articles in English, Hindi and Bengali in 27 newspapers and periodicals ToI, Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Nav Bharat Times, The Pioneer, BP Observer, AVMax, Frontline, Femina, Ninad (Research Journal of ITC SRA), Samakalika Sangeetham, Nav Bharat, Mahanagar, Dharmayug, Sangeet, Bhavan’s Journal, ….
Das has penned English ghazals as Archi, and published them in ghazal magazine and in Samakalika Sangeetham.

Shri Ram Krishna Das, received a Research Fellowship from HRD, Government of India for the researches on the life and music of the Indian courtesans in and Senior Research Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Gov. of India for working on the ‘Rags of India’.
