Steven Barnett, Ph.D., from the White House to Wall Street, Dr. Steven Barnett has helped firms throughout the world implement major changes in their organizations. His work has encompassed many aspects of management, but has particularly focused on the areas of developing and implementing business strategy and organization change. Much of his work has involved helping companies develop their international capabilities, particularly in effectively integrating management practices and organization cultures with differing national cultures.
Dr. Barnett has held postitions in other consulting firms, including Andersen Consulting, Alexander & Alexander, and Johnson & Higgins, as Vice President for international practice development. He has worked with firms in more than twenty countries throughout Asia, North America and Europe and has lived in Singapore, Spain and Canada, as well as the United States. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Barnett earned his Ph.D. in strategic management and international business and served as a professor, where he taught, researched, and published in areas of business strategy, organization behavior, and international and cross-cultural management.
In addition, he brings to his audience a wide range of experience in governmental and civic positions, including:
Special Assistant to the White House Office of Consumer Affairs under President Gerald Ford Member of the Advisory Board for Cancer Society Appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the regional District Export Council Member of the Trade Development Alliance advisory board Member of the board of the Operation Smile, an organization dedicated to providing reconstructive facial surgery to children and young adults in developing countries throughout the world, past president of the Circumnavigators. Dr. Barnett, M.S. in Financial Services, and Ph.D. in Strategic Management and International Business.
