William J. Seaton has delighted audiences with his humorous recollections of the world-famous San Diego Zoo’s developing years.
A veteran public relations executive , he headed PR departments for the Zoo and SeaWorld.
His published zoo memoirs won lst Place honors in the San Diego Book Awards competition.
Seaton joined the zoo staff as coordinating producer of the syndicated TV show, “Zoorama.” He later created the position of zoo ambassador and placed the appointee on “The Tonight Show,” where she gained fame, returning over 100 times.
After opening the zoo’s new Wild Animal Park, Seaton left to head SeaWorld’s PR department.
San Diego’s PR Club twice named him “PR Man of the Year.” The San Diego Press Club recently presented him with their life-time achievement in journalism award.

He proudly represented the famous marine park in running a leg of the Olympic torch relay.
