Martina Navratilova is one of the greatest tennis players ever to step onto a tennis court.
Navratilova had the distinction of being named WTA’s “Tour Player of the Year” an impressive seven times, in addition to being named AP “Female Athlete of the Year” in 1986, and “Top Forty Athletes of All-Time” by Sports Illustrated.
The former world No. 1 was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2000. Navratilova has channeled her immense success on the court to a passionate and ambitious life as a noted speaker and author.
Martina’s influence has always extended off the court and continues to do more so today by inspiring others as an honest and inspirational person who supports equal rights across all levels of society.
Since acknowledging herself as an openly gay sportswoman in 1981, Martina has not only learned to overcome adversity, but established herself as one of the most successful and respected individuals of a generation.
